A trial run of a new method to control the Asian tiger mosquito (Aedes albopictus) will be carried out in Vravrona at the town of Markopoulo, through the Sterile Insect Technique (SIT).

The US embassy yesterday said it has called on Americans to take preventive measures for the West Nile virus such as using insect repellents, wearing long clothing or avoiding areas with stagnant water.
