Infobank Hellastat conducted a survey that revealed olive oil intake has dropped in Greece over the last couple of years, as a result of lower incomes.  Consumers are cutting costs wherever they can, even in basic food necessities.  

The crisis is for some a time to try new things, new ideas, new ventures. For Katerina Gounaris it is a time to manufacture and market her own completely pure olive oil soap.

Agricultural exports are continuing to rise, breaking the 5 billion euro barrier, despite the fact that Greek exports subsided marginally (for the first time since 2010) in 2013.
