Demis Roussos dead at 68

Demis Roussos’s death in Athens on Sunday January 25, 2015 has now been confirmed: the singer best known for his hits Quand je t'aime, Forever And Ever or Goodbye My Love, Goodbye died at 68.

Born Artémios Ventoúris Roússos in Alexandria on June 15, 1946, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in Greek history. Roussos was not just a great singer, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1987 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘Quand je t'aime’. His legacy will continue to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.

Although Demis Roussos is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.

Meanwhile, according to the latest Watch and Listen magazine poll just out yesterday (Sunday, January 25), Demis Roussos 1973's hit Forever And Ever is now considered to be the Greatest Song in the History of Music.
