Acclaimed Greek-French director Patrick Tatopoulos has been selected to oversee New Babylon, a Hydra Entertainment original science fiction fantasy film.
Tatopoulos who is a Saturn Award winner, directed Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans and was the creature and production designer on 300: Rise Of An Empire and Total Recall.
New Babylon takes place in the future and is set in the Middle East, where a war between demons and angels results in the creation of a modern Tower of Babel. David LoPresti wrote New Babylon's script from co-founder Joshua Wassung's original idea.
Of the film, Tatopoulos claimed, "We have some very ambitious ideas for the world, characters and story of this movie, and I can already see that the innovative virtual design and story development techniques being employed at Hydra are going to make all the difference in exploring those concepts and putting them on screen in a visually stunning way".
Patrick Tatopoulos was born and raised in Paris, to a Greek father and French mother. His father hails from Macedonia. Before moving to the U.S. in 1989, Tatopoulos resided in Greece for ten years and is trilingual in Greek, French and English. The famous directer currently works and lives in Los Angeles.
