Seventeen Guilty in Tsohatzopoulos Trial

Akis Tsohatzopoulos and sixteen other defendants were found guilty in a money laundering and corruption trial lasting many months'
Twelve of the of those found guilty were deemed to have no extenuating circumstances.
Tsohatzopoulos was, in fact, found guilty of all charges, including passive bribery that caused 55 million euros of damages to the state.
Tsohatzopoulos' wife Vicky Stamati, his daughter Areti Tsohatzopoulou, his ex-wife Gudrun Moldenhauer, and his accountant Efrosyni Lambropoulou were also found guilty.
The appellate judges expressed their belief that all 19 were penaly responsible, but released two lawyers because of insufficient evidence.
