Messinia Murderer Blames Coconspirator
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
One of the 18-year-olds charged with the double murder in Messinia is shifting blame on to the other, saying that he did not participate nor did he acquiesce to the shootings.
In his extensive deposition, the 18-year-old expresses his regrets and asks forgiveness for the deaths of Kostantinos Sgouros and Yannis Kommatis, and describes in detail all the goings-on of early last Monday morning.
The young man who turned himself in, said he was not a ruthless murderer, nor a criminal, but stated he was in shock, terrified, immature, and witless, saying he neither shot, nor did he agree to the shootings.
His meeting with victim Kostantinos Sgouros came about because of his desire to take steroids, which the victim was selling. According to the deposition, the victim approached his clients as a specialist in body building and soon led them to addiction through which he siphoned off their money.
The victim, as the 18-year-old said, boasted of his criminal abilities and connections. The whole issue that led to the murder was a pending.
The men set up a meeting over an 800 euro discrepancy and the man named in the deposition as a perpetrator brought a gun, although the 18-year-old said he needn't, for fear that the muscular strength of the two victims would overpower them in any confrontation.
