Bad Debts Hit New Highs

Unserviced housing loans have risen to an unprecedented 75%, according to a survey by the Working Consumer Association of the General Confederation of Workers GSEE.
According to the survey, the unpaid credit card debts make up 15% of total, while unserviced consumer loans rose from 10% two-and-a-half years ago to 65% today.
The total sum of unserviceable loans now totals 65 billion euros, while those in temporary arrears come to more than 35 billion euros. The average debtor now owes over 94,000 euros.
Most are housing loans (61.6%), while consumer loans made up 31.2% of the total.
