German Town Pays Tribute to Trikala
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
A roundabout dedicated to the Greek city of Trikala was inaugurated in the German city of Amberg,
The roundabout has been decorated with six columns created by a German artist, and gifted to the city through the contribution of the two local Greek-German friendship associations "Filia" and "Hellas."
One of its corridors/pathways is aligned with the direction in which Trikala lies, while the surrounding decorative ring sports the city emblems of the two sister cities.
During the inaugural ceremony, the Greek delegation from Trikala, exchanged gifts with host Amberg mayor Wolfgang Dandorfer, and also discussed proposals for further enhancing relations between the cities.
Trikala is planning a similar dedication for Amberg in one of the city's squares.
