Kasidiaris accuses Samaras of manhandling justice

Golden Dawn MP Ilias Kasidiaris has accused the Prime Minister of personally directly interfering in the Justice System to ensure that Golden Dawn MPs were remanded in custody.

Kasidiaris was transferred from Korydallos prison, where he is being kept pending his trial, to parliament in order to speak regarding the move to suspend his parliamentary immunity over the Baltakos case. Kasidiaris is accused of violating privacy laws by making and releasing the damaging secret recordings of the former general secretary of the government.

Kasidiaris referred to an audio recording in which he maintains the Prime Minister Antonis Samaras can be heard talking with a high ranking official of the Justice Ministry.

“Tell the tall Panathiakos guy, to f*** the first three who go,” a man alleged to be the Prime Minister can be heard saying in the recording.

Allegedly the ‘tall Panathiakos guy,’ is a reference to the Isidoros Dogiakos the chief prosecutor in the Golden Dawn case. ‘The first three who go’ is a reference to three high ranking Golden Dawn officials.

Kasidiaris stated that the sound file had been uploaded to Russian and Chinese networks. He alleged that immediately following the ‘order’ from the Prime Minister, the Golden Dawn MPs Boukouras, Germenis and Iliopoulos were remanded in custody.

Effectively Kasidiaris is alleging a grossly improper intervention on the part of the Prime Minister in the justice system. While the voice in the recording does have the Prime Minister’s characteristic rasp, it should be noted that any sort of context is notably absent.
