Snowfall and freezing temperatures have hampered road traffic in several parts of the country as a new wave of adverse weather conditions – the second one in a few days – has hit Greece.
Early in the morning, the Fire Brigade rescued a couple that had been trapped in their car near the Mt. Parnitha casino due to heavy snowfall.
Snow chains are required in many parts of northern Greece, while traffic has also been disrupted in certain areas of northern Attica.
Even lower temperatures are forecast for Wednesday in Attica, while adverse weather is expected to abate as of the evening.
