Ministry Spells Out Rules on Civil Service Hirings
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The ministry of Government Reform and E Governance has issued a press report delineating the rules behind hirings for the state sector for 2013-2014.
According to the rules laid out there will be 1.5 hirings for every 5 persons leaving (due to pensions and resignations), thus achieving the agreed upon reduction of civil servants by 150,000 during the period 2011-2015.
In cases of forced layoffs, the ratio will be 1 to 1, meaning that the 15,000 positions thus affected will not be counted as reductions in personnel, but would be a renewal of staff.
