Papadimoulis: Referendum not necessary
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
While the referendum scenario divides the government, Dimitris Papadimoulis expressed the view that "it was not necessary".
Speaking on Ant1 television, the Vice President of the European Parliament said that Alexis Tsipras has a mandate from the people and does not have to go to the polls.
"Tsipras has the support of the Greek people to proceed boldly, honestly. We will not need a referendum, the last Greek who would like a referendum is the prime minister, the country needs solutions, not the polls, and the mandate to Tsipras is to govern and save the country from the position the Samaras - Venizelos government brought itt to," he said.
At the same time, he underlined that the agreement with the partners is the only solution, even if it is 'moderately satisfactory'.
