Police Focus on CCTV Footage and Eyewitness Accounts

Police have found, yet another shell casing, the 13th so far, at the site of the murder of two Golden Dawn members that may again change hypotheses on the crime.

At the same time police are examining the motorcycle used in the crime for DNA traces of the murderers of Golden Dawn members Manos Kapelonis and Giorgos Fountoulis.

Meanwhile, the video from Golden Dawn party offices at Neo Iraklio, in front of which the urder took place is being exhaustively scrutinized.

According to Eleftherotypia newspaper, the perpetrators took about seven seconds to complete their actions. According to the newspaper the first two shots were fired at a distance of 15 meters, with one bullet wounding Alexandros Gerontas, currently in critical condition, in hospital.

Two more shots were fired at a fourth man that missed, as he fled into the party offices.

"Fascists, we're here," seems to be the phrase uttered by the killer in Greek, according to an eyewitness account, as he turned to 27 year old Giorgos Fountoulis, and 22 year old Manos Kapelonis and shot them, with two bullets each.

As the killer delivered the final shots, the motorcycle driver appears in the video frame, wearing a motorcycle helmet and holding a gun. Police estimate another 10 persons involved in the operation and circulating in the area, while they're also searching for the final getaway vehicle.

Police see common elements in the way the execution was planned and carried out with other acts, like the murder of journalist Socratis Golias, and police officer Nektarios Savvas three years ago, responsibility for which was undertaken the "Sect of the Revolutionaries" organization.

Police place great emphasis on the testimony of three eyewitness accounts from the more than thirtysuch, as well as testimony from the fourth man that escaped the bullets.
