- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Troika representatives and the leadership of the government reform ministry will meet again on Monday, in order to seal the last pending issues concerning layoffs in the public sector.
Lenders' representatives have already accepted the first wave of suspensions of 12,500 civil servants, as well as the 2,000 layoffs in public broadcaster ERT, while they also recognized that the assessment of 410,000 public sector staff has proceeded.
Issues still open include whether short term contract employees whose employment will be terminated by judicial decrees, as well as the extension of two months the ministry is asking for the second wave of suspensions, and the 2,000 layoffs remaining within the framework of this year's memorandum obligations.
