Parliament passed a bill containing the second package of prior actions demanded by Greece’s creditors, early on Thursday morning, with 230 votes for and 63 against.
Of the 63 voting it down, 31 were deputies of SYRIZA, the majority party in the ruling coalition. Another 5 SYRIZA deputies voted “present”.
Debate on the draft bill began on Wednesday evening, under fast-track procedures and Parliament voted by roll call, as requested by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE).
The prior actions in the draft bill include reforms to the code of civil procedure and the transposition of the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD) into Greek law.
