Freezing refugees and migrants leave Moria to find refuge in old castle
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Several refugees and migrants left the camp in Moria, Lesvos, and set up their tents in a ruined Ottoman castle in Mytilene, in a desperate effort to escape the bitter cold and heavy snowfall which has affected the island in the last few days.
Groups of mostly African migrants hid among the ruins and lit up fires to warm up. “We don’t know what to do, I think we’re going to die here in this cold,” said Magdi from Algeria.
