Turkish Cypriot pseudo-state blocks free access to Louroujina for Greek Cypriots

The ruling Turkish Cypriot coalition has decided to put limitations on the Greek Cypriots’ access to the village of Louroujina in a military area in the north of Cyprus.
A decree was issued on Friday by the coalition of the National Unity Party (UBP) and the Democratic Party (DP) after the opening of a new road which offers an alternative entrance to the village of Louroujina bypassing the army camp in the area.
On Sunday hundreds of Greek Cypriots had fled to the village, taking advantage of the fact that for the first time in 43 years Greek Cypriots, as they thought, could enter the village without showing any identification as previously declared.
The ruling coalition in the north have decided that citizens “from a country other than the TRNC and the Turkish Republic will need to report at the village’s police station before entering the village”. In the decree issued by the coalition Greek Cypriots are referred to be “citizens of a third country” and as such need to report to police station in order to be permitted to enter the village.
The decree also states that “if deemed necessary due to security reasons the entry of third country citizens may be limited”.
