Large fire burning in Anafonitria, northern Zakynthos

A large wildfire broke out on Monday evening at the village of Anafonitria, near the monastery of Aghios Georgios in northern Zakynthos, the fire department said.
According to the regional chief of the Ionian Islands? fire department, Efthymios Georgakopoulos, the fire has burned 50,000 square meters of pine forest and one fireman was sent to hospital after experiencing dizziness and dehydration. Twenty-six firefighters with sixteen vehicles, a 9-member unit on foot, two Pezetel aircraft and two Canadair are on the scene.
It is not known what started the blaze.
