Greek economy changing as a result of climate change

The increase in air pollutants is proportional with Greek GDP growth.
At least these are the results of studies of data over the last decades, said Professor of Atmospheric Physics Zerefos, speaking at the four-day Panhellenic Congress of Physics in Thessaloniki.
Indicative of the crisis over the last few years, Christos Zerefos said, is the reduction of pollutants from agricultural crops, as a typical example of the reduction of nitrogen dioxide values in the Larissa region, which is considered agricultural.
Studies show that by 2100 the temperature value θ will mainly rise in the mainland from 2.8 -3.9 degrees. An increase that will have an impact on the economy, while increasing the cost of extinguishing fires by 2100 to 50 million euros.
The economic loss to fishing due to a reduction in fish populations will be high and will mean a loss of income from 2.5 to 14.8 euros. At the same time, the arable land in Greece will shrink by 19%.
The environmental crisis, according to Christos Zerefos's forecasts, may reduce GDP by 2%,, but there are also good news.
The tourist season seems to be increasing from June to April and from September to November due to climatic conditions prevailing in Greece.
