The injuries sustained by a man who was shot 8 times by persons unknown shortly after 21:30 on Thursday, in the area of Agioi Anargyroi, proved fatal.
The man was instantly transferred in critical condition at the "Red Cross" hospital and a few hours later he expired.
As it turns out, this is an act of retaliation against the murder of Vassilis Stefanakos last January. According to first information, it is about settling gangland scores.
Shortly after 21:30, persons unknown who were riding a motorcycle fired at close range with a gun - most likely a Tokarev according to new information - against the driver of a car at the intersection of Peisistratos and Tripoleos streets in Agioi Anargyroi. Eigght shells were found at the site.
The victim allegedly belongs to the group with which the Stefanakos gang was at odds. According to first information, the man was Greek, known as a "godfather", who has repeatedly been inmplicated by the prosecuting authorities for a number of criminal offenses such as blackmail, protection, attacks, beatings, etc.
The victim was one of the henchmen of a group of a 47-year-old gang leader, who was murdered outside a school in Glyka Nera. In fact, the victim of the assault has reportedly suffered an attempted murder, outside a pizzeria, about a year ago, but was not injured then.
