Two Pakistanis held 50 foreigners hostage and blackmailing their relatives

Two Pakistani nationals aged 29 and 30, illegally holding 50 foreigners in an abandoned building in the Greater Nea Apollonia area, were arrested after a police operation.
The 50 foreign nationals, from Pakistan and Bangladesh, including five minors, were held illegally until their relatives sent money to the perpetrators in order for them to be released.
Further investigation revealed that the foreigners had initially paid sums of money for their illegal transportation from Turkey to the city of Thessaloniki through their relatives.
But then they were detained without their will, in order for their intimates to send them extra money, which they would deliver to the ring for their release.
The two men arrested yesterday morning will be brought to the prosecutor. Against them and their accomplices, a case-file was formed on a case-by-case basis for offenses of criminal organization, gang formation, extortion, rape, transportation of aliens inside the country and provision of shelter for money.
