Turkish media play on superiority of forces, harp on BORA missile
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Turkish media engaged in propaganda, comparing the Greek and Turkish weapons systems, emphasizing the Bora missile, and referring to the clear superiority of Ankara.
"The development of the Turkish armed forces is disturbing the countries of the West and especially Greece," said the Star website, while Aksam also hosts a similar article. "It is well known that the great force of Greece is the air force. Her attempt to improve her naval capabilities is due to the fact that she is confronted by the Turkish navy. Turkish land forces are not comparable to Greek ones, " the report says.
As far as the Bora missile is concerned, it is reported that Greece is very concerned about the specific weapon of the Turks. "It has a range of 280 km, while with upgrading it can be increased to 700 km. Turkey can hit Athens on the Aegean side. That is why the Greek Ministry of Defense is trying to push for the increase in military spending," the article continues, noting that Greece has no missile capable of dealing with the Bora.
