Greece drops below Albania in World Bank Doing Business Index

Greece fell to 72nd among 190 countries in the World Bank Doing Business Index for 2019, from the 67th in the previous report.
The fall brings the country under Albania, which is on the 63nd position of the index, while remaining well below other eurozone countries like Spain (30th) and Portugal (34th). Cyprus ranks 57th in the ranking and Turkey in 43rd.
Greece's rating on business ease, results from the evaluation of 10 individual indicators.
* Start of business: 44th place from 37th
* Managing construction permits: 39th place from 58th
* Electrification: 79th from 76th place
* Real estate registration: 153th from 145th place
* Taking credit: 99th from 90th place
* Protection of minority investors: 51st from 43rd place
* Tax payment: fixed at 65th place
* Cross-border trade: 31st out of 29th
* Implementation of contracts: 132nd from 131st place
* Application of bankruptcy procedure: 62nd from 57th place
