Minister of National Defense Panos Kammenos delivered an acerbic speech that will surely be discussed, at the international conference "ATHENA" organized by the National Defense General Staff.
The Minister of National Defense immediately took to the attack, saying from the start that he will speak the language of truth.
In this context, he addressed the audience several times by asking rhetorical questions, which he responded to. The audience consisted of diplomatic delegations, comprising high-ranking military officers from foreign countries.
Military attachess, representatives of International Organizations and Institutes, members of the academic community, executives of public agencies, retired Armed Forces officers, individuals as well as representatives of defense andsecurity corporation executives.
The Minister of National Defense once again attacked national intelligence agency EYP, saying it does not share with the Armed Forces the information it has about organized crime.
He said he did not know whether he will continue his political career, arguing that NATO and Europe are not ready to face terrorist attacks.
He spurned NATO's obsession with Russia and called for co-operation on terrorism issues. He remarked that the European Union only good for receptions and financial agreements!
Finally, he argued that the international community is virtually actionless on the terrorist threat.
