The scandal of 500 million dollars for the upgrade of 5 naval cooperation aircraft P-3B Orion of the Hellenic Navy has come under the microscope of the prosecution authorities, with the protagonist of the president of ANEL party and then Minister of National Defense (2015-2019) Panos Kammenos. The Prosecutor's Office is investigating the possible commission of three felonies, including the crime of money laundering. Prosecutors are being asked to investigate the $500 million direct-order upgrade of the Navy's 5 P-3B aircraft, which should have been completed years ago, but still remains void.

Ilias Kammenos, son of Panos Kammenos, is the declared shareholder of the company Greekkannabis, as evidenced by the documents and the statutes of the private capital company, which he established together with two other persons.

"In the purely operational field, safety rules must be respected and this applies to everyone. The oxymoron is that Defense Minister P. Kammenos was flying military helicopters for four years without complying with security rules. Together with him was Mr. Apostolakis at that time," said New Democracy shadow defense minister Vasilis Kikilias.
