Tsipras visited Mati in the absence of media

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras visited the fire-stricken area of Mati on Tuesday to discuss with residents the implementation of the measures announced in the summer for the people affected, the course of restoration of the damage as well as solutions to any new problems.
Τhe prime minister referred to the amendment tabled in Parliament on Tuesday that determines the restrictions on the construction and restoration of the affected buildings.
The visit was greeted with scorn on social media, as the PM's visit coincided with the strike called by journalists.Mr Tsipras has come under intense criticism for his government's handling of the tragedy and the irresponsibility with which it has faced any attempts at rehabilitating the area.
