Hellenic Army releases pics of OH-58D helicopters granted by the US
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Photographs from the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior Helicopters acquired by the Hellenic Army bearing the Greek national emblem, which are in the process of testing in the USA, have just been released!
Of the helicopters 36 will come fully operational, with all the systems that have been added, so they will be usable in a short time, with Initial Operational Capability (IOC) achieved within 2019. Just 24 have one of three radio stations to be used for the training of crews, and the remaining 10 are for spare parts.
In the end, they are much more modern than the UH-1 Hueys in the training role, as the oldest was built in 1993 and the newest in 2010, while Chinooks date from the mid-1980s.
