"Our goal is to allow the Greek primary sector to get the position it deserves. With the introduction of new digital technology and the shift to new, lower cost production methods," Agricultural Development and Food Minister Makis Voridis said on Sunday in an interview with 'Nea Selida'.
In order to achieve this, he stressed the need for establishing a new institutional framework that will allow an open dialogue with productive bodies and restore transparency and accountability in the operation of associations and professional organizations, freeing them of unnecessary and costly bureaucracy.
Adopting environmentally friendly production methods that take into account the challenges of climate change will also contribute to this effort, he added.
