SYRIZA on gov't budget for 2020: 'Giving much to the few, little to the many'

The government of New Democracy (ND) "gives much to the few and little to the many," SYRIZA party said after the tabling of the draft budget for 2020 in Parliament on Thursday.
Criticizing the government over the budget's provisions, the main opposition party said, "The budget tabled in Parliament by the government confirms the criticism we have levelled up to now over its fiscal and economic policy in general," a statement said.
The budget, it charged, "foresees lavish tax relief measures for the mighty and rich, but is not generous at all towards low and middle-range incomes." The 2020 budget "belies the hopes for the significant improvement of its revenues that ND had cultivated during its electoral campaign," Syriza said, with "income inequalities enforced, not managed."
"No surprises from ND: Loyal to its neoliberal fixations, it gives much to the few and little to the many," it concluded.
