- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The Hephaistion storm front that hit the country a few days ago brought huge amounts of water to Crete, resulting in the overflow of the Aposelemi Dam.
This is why authorities went ahead with the process of controlled dam relief. According to neakriti.gr, it is characteristic that, on Wednesday, the dam's capacity was at 84%, with about 21 million cubic meters of water, ie 4 million cubic meters less than the total capacity of the dam.
The Crete Development Organization SA issued a communication and protective measures.
The images from the dam evacuation are impressive.
