Greek Minister of State George Gerapetritis on Tuesday committed to implementing proposals by European football's governing body (UEFA), following meetings he held in Switzerland on drafting a new regulatory framework for the sport.
According to government sources, Gerapetritis met over the last two days with UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin and with the world football body (FIFA) president Gianni Infantino for their input on a new plan the government is drawing up, hoping to reform the professional Greek football sector. There was an agreement on the issues discussed, the sources said.
UEFA agreed to provide technical help, while the government fully committed to implement UEFA's proposals fully, while Gerapetritis said that any teams that violate the regulations will be expelled from European championships.
