Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to meet with Emanuel Macron in the coming days, according to reports, as the personal meeting between leaders of Greece and France has been finalized. The Mitsotakis-Macron meeting is said to take place on September 10, as SKAI broadcast, adding that it is most likely to take place in Corsica, without of course negating the possibility of it taking place in Paris.
The details of the defense cooperation between Greece and France are expected to be on the table in order for them to be finalized so that the signatures will take place within September. In addition, the two leaders are expected to discuss Greece's armaments program and the purchase of weapons systems, according to the TV station. Among other things, the purchase of Rafale fighter jets and torpedoes is reportedly being discussed.
Some of the aircraft will be new and some used and the procurement is being promoted in order to be quickly available to the Greek Armed Forces, possibly within 12 months, which is a short time, given the procedures required.
