Numerous stores and services have suspended their operation as provided by the Alarm Level category 4, while the restaurants that opened on Friday morning serve only through take-away and delivery.

The majority of the citizens who move around in Kozani wear masks, while concerns prevail mainly from the parents for the continuation of the operation of schools.

The anxiety of the people of the Kozani market is obvious, while the Kozani Chamber of Commerce has already expressed its indignation in a relevant letter, requesting immediate support measures to all professionals, which have already been announced by the Ministries of Finance and Labor.

Coronavirus: Kozani in a local lockdown - The measures
The wider area of ​​Kozani was set at the level of alarm category 4 (Increased Risk) from today at 6 in the morning. According to a statement from the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, due to the increased epidemiological burden in the wider area of ​​Kozani and following yesterday's unanimous proposal of the Special Committee of Experts of the Ministry of Health, for urgent reasons to address the effects of COVID-19, the entire Regional Unit of Kozani is set from today, 16-10-2020, time 06.00 and for 14 days, until 29-10-2020, at the Alarm Level category 4 - Increased Risk, according to Charter of health safety and protection of the Greek Government.

It is noted that the Alarm Level category 4 - Increased Risk provides for the mandatory use of a mask in all indoor and outdoor areas, the suspension of all gatherings in public and private areas, as well as the ban on movement outside the Kozani Regional Unit.
