Frustrated citizens stage outdoor parties

Featured Frustrated citizens stage outdoor parties

Catering and shops may be closed, but the spring weather was enough to get citizens out on the streets and squares.

Despite the fact that the cases are increasing and the beds in the ICUs are decreasing, with the NHS under siege, the images of overcrowding that are observed every weekend are increasing.

Despite the strict measures imposed by the Authorities, the citizens seem to risk the hefty fines for drinking and having fun in open spaces.

After all, there are many experts and infectious disease specialists who ask the government to seriously consider the possibility of gradual opening and, consequently, the opening of the restaurants, in order to relieve the crowd but also to avoid such images of overcrowding, without any control .

As they note, the opening of the restaurants could be done by observing measures, so that the economy and the citizens can "breathe".

A typical example was last night, when the Metropolis in Thessaloniki was transformed into a large corona party, where hundreds of people had set up a party.

With their drinks in hand from cafes and bars which open with the "method" of take away, the citizens enjoyed their drinks undisturbed.

Extreme crowding in Faliro
Inter-municipal movements may not be planned, but even though outdoor parties are usually held mainly in central parts of the cities, suburbanites have decided to do their own guerrilla warfare.

On Sunday night, crowded images at the Olympic Properties in Faliro saw the light of day where citizens with take away drinks not only without distances, but without even wearing a mask, had gathered, taking advantage of the good weather and on the occasion of the full moon.

At the improvised party that was set up, the gathered people use their cars as..Djs.

Party in Psyrri
A similar picture on Saturday night could be seen in the center of Athens.

Crowds drank take away drinks without masks and measures on Saturday night in images reminiscent of the pre-pandemic era.

As of 7pm on Saturday in Psyrri, more than 200 people were holding take away drinks enjoying each other's company close to each other and without masks. Police rushed to the scene and managed to disperse the crowd.

The outdoor party, in fact, continued in Varnavas Square even after the curfew, without the police appearing this time.

Are there any changes to the curfew?
According to information, the Committee of Experts in cooperation with the government will consider a possible change regarding the traffic ban, in order to return to the hours of 11.00 in the evening to 06.00 in the morning, ie approximately where it was before it was tightened.

This of course will depend on the course of the pandemic, the number of cases and the pressure on the NSS.
