Featured Tour. Min. – The tourism industry returns its profits to local communities

The Minister of Tourism, Vassilis Kikilias, focused on the organized plan of the Ministry of Tourism for the new tourism year, from the podium of the EENE Greek Entrepreneurs Union Conference.

After emphasizing the successful opening of tourism in 2021, he expressed his optimism for 2022 and sent a message of cooperation and hard work in order for the new year to be crowned with success.

“It is obvious that our strategy in the new era involves tourism businesses, commercial enterprises, shops located in tourist areas, with the development of a sustainable tourism model, development and investment. Such is the Ministry of Tourism, this is the texture of the bill that we submitted and voted in Parliament. “With development tools, such as DMOs and the public limited company for the exploitation of thermal springs”, Mr. Kikilias pointed out.

Referring to 2021, he described it as successful, since Greek tourism will offer revenues of more than 10 billion euros to the Greek economy.

“2022 has challenges and expectations”, Mr. Kikilias said inter alia, while noting that in the new year the bet will be once again on security. In fact, he once again stressed that Greece is a safe destination and has proven it in the way it worked in 2021 (with health protocols, testing, etc.).

“We must all together, with the entrepreneurs of the area, with the people of the commercial world and the executives of tourism, find new ways in order to attract more quality visitors and tourists. To continue to increase the possibility for more destinations to be accessible, to “illuminate” more destinations in the country and in winter tourism and in summer tourism and alternative tourism, so that this large industry that we have is growing, growing and “returns its profits to the local communities, to the Greek family, permanently creating more jobs,” stressed the Minister of Tourism.

In any case, the concern of the Ministry of Tourism for 2022 will be the further strengthening of the “Brand” of Greece, with Mr. Kikilias reminding that Greece is the 5th Brand in the world.
