Health committee doctor notes slight improvement in hospital indicators
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The number of new coronavirus diagnoses has dropped slightly nationally, by 8%, health committee member and doctor Gkikas Magiorkinis said during a regular briefing on Thursday.
In addition, the number of deaths from the virus has also dropped by 8%, but the pressure on the National Health System - particularly on ICUs - remains high. There is a slight easing by 5% of the number of patients in ICUs, as well as improvements in other indicators, Magiorkinis said.
The small improvement in admissions to hospitals is however also accompanied by a slight drop in discharges, mostly related to patients in regular beds, he said.
