At the age of 83, Marina Lambraki-Plaka, director of the National Gallery, passed away in the early hours of the morning.
Marina Lambraki-Plaka was admitted to the hospital two days ago, as she presented some health problems, and ended up this morning.
In fact, Marina Lambraki-Plaka had a press conference scheduled for June 15 at the National Gallery to present a large exhibition about Konstantinos Parthenis, an exhibition she had been preparing for years with great dedication.
The news of her death shocked the world of culture.
Marina Lambraki-Plaka was an art historian, archaeologist and professor emeritus of Art History at the School of Fine Arts.
From 1992 she served as the director of the National Gallery-Museum of Alexandros Soutsos.
She served as Deputy Minister of Culture, Education and Religions in the caretaker government of 2015.
