Inflation leaps to 12.1% in June

The Greek annual inflation rate rose to 12.1% in June from 11.3% in May, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.
More specifically, the statistics service said that the consumer price index rose 1.6% in June from May. The food/beverage group recorded a 12.6% increase, alcohol/tobacco rose 0.9%, clothing-footwear rose 4.6%, housing jumped 31.5%, durable groods rose 6.5%, health prices were up 0.6%, transport jumped 25%, entertainment rose 1.7%, education was up 0.9%, hospitality prices rose 6.5% and other goods and services prices rose 2.3%. Telecommunications prices were down 2.3%.
