Greek merchant fleet decreased in May [Tables]

The strength of the Greek merchant fleet decreased by 0.5% in May 2022 compared to the previous year, according to the provisional data published by Hellenic Statistical Authority - ELSTAT.

Meanwhile, the gross tonnage of the Greek Merchant Fleet, for vessels of 100 GRT and over, recorded a decrease of 2.5% in May 2022 compared with May 2021. A decrease of 3.2% was recorded in May 2021 compared with May 2020.
According to ELSTAT data, the Greek commercial fleet numbered 1,831 ships in May 2022, of which 735 passenger ships, 446 tankers, 382 cargo vessels and 268 ships of other categories.
