Government Council on National Security to meet on immigration and Turkish challenges

What Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said against Greece yesterday is characteristic, thus showing that Ankara will continue the "game" of provocations, ignoring the international reactions.

In an interview with TVNET, Cavusoglu defended the agreement with Libya and questioned why the EU, Greece and Egypt are bothered as Ankara is the most important factor in Libya.

"Turkey will do research, drilling and trade," Cavusoglu said. "We must protect our country, even if the world stands against us. Whoever it is," he added.

In a crescendo of insults and irony, the Turkish Foreign Minister said that Greece behaves like a beggar who asks for the help of the Great Powers who will then abandon it.

You have a strong Turkey in front of you," he interpreted, adding "in history, the Turkish soldier threw you into the sea and because you couldn't stomach it, you are hostile to the Turks everywhere ».

KYSEA to focus on Turkish proclivities 

Today, Wednesday, the Government Council on National Security (KYSEA) is expected to meet with Greece-Turkey relations on the agenda , while it is possible that armaments issues will also be discussed.

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos, as well as the Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, are expected to be present at the KYSEA, which will meet under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The focus is on the "warlike climate" as shaped by Turkey's crescendo of statements, with Erdogan setting the tone for the threats and inflammatory rhetoric.
