Greek Defence Min. and Armed Forces Chief meet with visiting US Sen. Rick Scott

Greek National Defence Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos and chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS) General Konstantinos Floros, both met separately with visiting United States Senator Rick Scott on Monday.
At the meeting with minister Panagiotopoulos, which was held in the presence of US Embassy in Athens Charge d' Affaires Maria Olson, "the importance of the strategic defense partnership was highlighted, while in the context of the continuous upgrading of the transport and energy infrastructure at the Port of Alexandroupoli, the provision -through this- of support for the defense of Ukraine," Panagiotopoulos wrote on Twitter.
Also on Twitter, Floros said they discussed the two countries' "strategic relationship and the ongoing upgrading of military collaboration, the significance of the ports of Souda and Alexandroupolis for NATO, and support for Ukraine."
Senator Scott serves in the United States Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs and in the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services.
