Acropolis Museum vs Sunak: "Culture is not only antiquities, but also behavior"

Featured Acropolis Museum vs Sunak: "Culture is not only antiquities, but also behavior"

With a meaningful statement from its general manager, Nikolaos Chr. Stampolidis, the Acropolis Museum takes a position on the indecency of the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sounak, to cancel his meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

"Culture is not only antiquities and works of art. Culture is also the relationships and behaviors of people", the general director of the Acropolis Museum mentions in his statement

And it continues:

"The British Prime Minister, creating a global uproar, failed this time to break the unity of the Parthenon Sculptures. And he still did not manage to disrupt the order with the principles and values of the excellent relations of two countries and their peoples, as well as the Decision of 2021, of the World Organization, UNESCO, by which it is recognized that the issue of the claim, the return and reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures, the symbol of harmony, aesthetics and Democracy, is right, fair and intergovernmental, calling on the two governments to solve it, according to the arguments, data and global will in the 21st century".

It is recalled that the Greek prime minister in his interview said that the Parthenon Sculptures should be returned, as having some of them in London and the rest in Athens was like cutting the Mona Lisa in half.
