How the murder happened in Nea Smyrni

According to information from police sources, at approximately 19:30 on Tuesday 26/12, the two brothers had an argument over a trivial matter, specifically about their clothes.

Then, despite their mother's and grandmother's efforts to calm them down, they physically assaulted each other using their hands and feet.

The fight escalated and the defendant, after finding a pair of scissors in their bedroom, chased his 16-year-old brother, who tried to hide in the living room by closing the door.

The defendant opened the partition door of the living room and using the scissors he had in his possession seriously injured his brother in the chest area.

At the time of the bloody incident, the mother of the two brothers, their grandmother and a friend of the 18-year-old were also at home.

Neighbors who heard the voices alerted the Police, who rushed to the house on Stadiou Street, as well as an EKAV ambulance.

The 16-year-old was taken to the People's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy is expected to be ordered by the prosecutor once the Security has completed the preliminary investigation stage.
