The first of a fleet of 140 electric buses manufactured by China's Yutong have arrived in Attica and will soon join the other means of public transport in Athens, as announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Staikouras.

In accordance with the contract, the new buses will undergo a period of macroscopic inspection and then 38 will begin a period of trial operation, without passengers on board.

According to the CEO of the public bus company OSY S.A., Stefanos Agiasoglou, the addition of the new buses to the company's fleet officially launches a new era of electromobility in Greece's public transport, implementing the government's plan for sustainable urban mobility.
