Court imposes life sentence on main defendant in Kolonos child rape case

Life imprisonment and additional temporary sentences were imposed by the court on 55-year-old Ilias Michos, the perpetrator of sexual violence and exploitation against a 12-year-old girl from Kolonos during the summer of 2022.
According to the court's decision, Michos, a businessman, was also served cumulative sentences totaling 41 years, prior to consolidation, for crimes including the exploitation of the now 14-year-old minor, pimping, and pornography, each carrying a 12-year term. Furthermore, a separate 3-year sentence was imposed for the misdemeanors of illegal possession of arms.
For the retired seaman known as "Michalis," the court handed down a pre-consolidation sentence of 24 years, consisting of 12 years of imprisonment for pimping and pornography.
The court also served the child's mother with a 20-month sentence for a misdemeanor charge.
For the 15 individuals who arranged meetings with the child, sentences ranging from 13 months to 7 years were imposed.
