Volos: a 28-year-old man got drunk and drove on the wrong side of a busyavenue until he stopped to buy food!

The Autonomous Single-member Misdemeanor Court of Volos sentenced him to a total of 18 months in prison for dangerous driving which may result in danger and driving under the influence of alcohol, but gave him the right to buy it back at 20 euros a day, which means he will have to pay 10,940 euros in order not to serve it.

The young man, who lives in Chalkida and was in Volos on vacation, had caused panic among the drivers who were moving normally on the road and they honked at him to make them understand what he was doing. But, he had continued on his way until he stopped at a shop to buy... souvlakia 9roasted meet on skewers! There he was stopped by the Traffic Police to give him a breathalyzer, but despite his drunkenness he managed to trick the device by closing the mouthpiece with his tongue while blowing, resulting in a breathalyzer reading...zero!

Finally, after... 30 (!) attempts, the breathalyzer showed 1.66 milligrams of alcohol per liter of blood and thus he was arrested. In fact, it was found that he had been arrested in the past for driving under the influence of alcohol.
