A fire at a hotel in Kalambaka turned into a tragedy, as one person lost his life.
According to information from the police, it is a man who jumped from the balcony when the fire broke out.
The Fire Department is investigating the causes, examining two scenarios: either the man was scared, or he was trapped by the fire and therefore jumped.
Initial information indicated that the man had been taken to the hospital with injuries.
Seven more people who were freed and showed respiratory problems have been taken to the hospital. According to trikalaopinion, among those taken to the hospital with respiratory problems is a mother with her children.
The fire broke out early Monday morning at the hotel on Grigoriou Liakata Street in Kalambaka. Strong fire brigade forces rushed to the scene with 26 firefighters and 8 vehicles, while a special ladder truck was also mobilized.
Among those who were rescued from their rooms from the hotel balconies with stairs and a private ladder truck are several minors with their parents.
