The list of the best meatball dishes was published by Taste Atlas and among them are two Greek dishes..
The culinary guide that recently declared Greek cuisine the best in the world for the 2024-2025 season and often shares its lists of the best dishes in each category, has just shared a list of the 50 best meatball dishes in the world.

Yuvarlakia in 2nd place on Taste Atlas' list
At the top of the list are Italian meatballs, or polpette, while in second place are meatballs, about which Taste Atlas writes: "This rich Greek soup combines tender beef meatballs and a creamy, flavorful broth. Both the meatballs and the broth are usually seasoned with various fresh herbs and the whole dish is completed with the addition of avgolemono - the creamy sauce of this and lemon - which thickens the broth and adds the characteristic flavor.
Traditionally, yuvarlakia are associated with the winter season and are usually accompanied by bread and enjoyed as a nutritious main course.
The list is completed, of course, by Turkish meatballs, but also the characteristic meatballs from Sweden called "Köttbullar", as well as meatballs in a variety of sauces from around the world.
In 7th place, however, are Greek meatballs-keftedakia, about which the culinary guide states: “Tasty, fluffy and tender meatballs made from a combination of minced pork and beef, eggs, stale bread or toast and spices such as dill, pepper, parsley and oregano. The mixture is formed into small balls that are then fried in olive oil.
Their round shape makes them ideal for popular Greek picnics, where meatballs are consumed as a snack, but can also be eaten as an appetizer or as a main course.”
