Delays at El. Venizelos airport – Arrivals capacity reduced by 25%
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Delays have been recorded since Thursday morning in flight arrivals at “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport due to capacity constraints.
As a result, as noted in an announcement by Aegean, there are delays of 35-40 minutes or more due to the cumulative effect of the departure and return cycle of aircraft to and from Athens airport.
The AEGEAN announcement
AEGEAN informs the travelling public that, since the morning of Thursday, 25 September, the available capacity of arrivals from Air Traffic Control has been reduced by approximately 25% at Athens International Airport “El. Venizelos” airport.
As a consequence, there are delays of 30-40 minutes in the morning hours, which are escalating during the day, due to the cumulative effect of the departure and return cycle of aircraft to and from Athens International Airport.
We apologize and assure you that we are making every effort to limit the impact on our passengers.
