- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Minister of Shipping Vasilis Kikilias will brief the Production and Trade Committee of Parliament regarding the Chios tragedy.
The emergency session is scheduled for Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., during which the minister is expected to present the information gathered so far on the case, as well as the actions taken by the relevant authorities, answering questions from Members of Parliament.
It is noted that Mr. Kikilias’s appearance before the Committee comes after intense pressure from the opposition, which in recent days had repeatedly demanded his presence in Parliament to provide accountability and detailed explanations regarding the circumstances of the incident.
